-His real name is Balya, son of Malkan, son of Falig (Palegi), son of Abir, son of Shalikh, son of Arfakhlishadh, son of Sam, son of Noah (AS).

-The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said: “he was nicknamed Khidr (meaning green) because he sat on a piece of white fur so much that it turned to green” (from usage on grass).

-It was also said that he was so called because wherever he prays, the surroundings turn green. (Qisas al-anbiyaa Pg 222)

-He was Moses’ contemporary.(Q 18:60-82)

-He was a prophet.

-He started out as a soldier in the army of Dhul Qarnayn (Alexander the Great). Qisas al-anbiyaa Pg 371

-Khidr was a great prince who left home to later join the army of Alexander. (Qisas al-anbiyaa Pg 223-225)

-Therefore, he was born around the time when Ibrahim (AS) lived in Babylon (Qisas al-anbiyaa Pg 226), drank the water from the “spring of life” and hence, lived eternally.

-This was why some confuse him with Jeremiah {Harimiya}, son of Khalifah wrongly, while others say he is Melchiezedec (King of Truth).

-In any case , his drinking the “fount of life” made him a great Mystic, a Prophet, a Sage, a Scholar, an ardent Worshipper, an eternal savant and above all, a Slave of his Lord and  Master “ALLAH ‘SWT’”.

-This was why ALLAH sent Moses to learn the esoteric knowledge (ilmu-l-baatin) from him.

-It may be noted that the many journeys of Alexander the Great was mentioned in the same surah of the Qur’an (Suratul Kahf, i.e. Q 18: 83-99) just after the story of Musa & Khidr to show us the time of beginning of khidr’s greatness.

-The prediction of the Romans’ defeat by the Persians is found in Q30:2-4 which says:-

“- The Romans have been defeated.

- In the nearest land (to the Arabian Peninsula i.e. Persia),

and they, after their defeat, will be victorious.

- Within three to nine years.

-The decision of the matter, before and after is only with Allah.

- And on that day the believers will rejoice”.

-The actual realization was when the Persians defeated the Romans at Antioch 613 AD.

-Just exactly 9 years later, in 622 AD, the duo met again in Armenia and Rome defeated the Persians for the first time after 613 AD.

PROPHET IDREES : THE EPITOME OF KNOWLEDGE

IDREES <ENOCH>: THE EPITOME OF KNOWLEDGE

-His real name is Akhnukh (Enoch).

-He was nick-named Idrees (“The Scholar”) because he was always engaged in scholarly pursuits.

-He was always reading the books of revelation given to prophet Adam (A.S) and Seth (A.S).

- His mother’s name was  Ashuth, while his father’s name was Bard(Jared) son of Mahla’eel, son of Qaynan, son of Anwh (Ena), son of Shith (Seth), son of Adam.

-He was the first to write with the pen (“Al-qalam”), the first man to weave cloth and the first to wear sown cloth.

-He was also the first man to learn star-gazing (Astrology & Astronomy “Q 10:5, Q 17:12 & Q 25:61”), as well as Mathematics (Hisab).

-The first medium used to conduct this research/scholasticism was the sand ‘an abundant material’, and so the knowledge came to be known alternatively as Ramlu, Qalami, Turabi, etc. ‘Q 96:1-5’

             1. “Ramlu” – meaning Sand (Variations)

           2. “Al-Qalam” – meaning Pen (Dialectics)

          3. “Hisab” –meaning Calculations (Mathematics, Astrology / Astronomy)

-These three are branches of the same knowledge, i.e. physical research into so-called “supernatural” phenomena.

-That is the why the medium used by scholars, especially of mysticism is the (pure) sand & (Witness khatims (seals)).

-Sometimes, the names are interchanged as the branches are interwoven and overlap in repeated relations.

-Ramlu (also called Turabi – meaning soil) is sometimes called al-Qalami in the beginning.

-But was later known in many cultures as the Oracle, e. g. the 16 Odus of Ifa, the Yoruba Oracle in West Africa.

-His knowledge and wisdom cannot be faulted based on any later adulterations, for he was one of the Sidqeen (Truthful Prophets) ‘Q19:56 & Q4:96’.
